9-1-1 Veterans is a small non-profit organization dedicated to assisting our military veterans in Nassau and Suffolk County, Long Island. We have assisted our current and former returning Veterans of all eras with emergency financial assistance in the form of:

– rent and mortgage payments
– food and clothing
– utility payments
– a variety of other areas if they are a critical need to that Veteran.

Concern Housing is a non-profit agency committed to helping individuals and families to live in the community with dignity and enhanced opportunities through the provision of housing and support services. We are one of the largest housing agencies of this kind in New York State, currently serving over 1,500 individuals and families in over 250 locations. National Call Center for Homeless Veterans

Veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness—and their family members, friends and supporters—can make the call to or chat online with the National Call Center for Homeless Veterans, where trained counselors are ready to talk confidentially 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Call 1-877-4AID-VET (1-877-424-3838) for 24/7 assistance. They can connect you with the local VA and HUD-VASH program.

HUD-VASH is a collaborative program that pairs HUD’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) rental assistance with VA case management and supportive services. These services are designed to help homeless Veterans and their families obtain permanent housing and access the health care, mental health treatment, and other supports necessary to help them improve their quality of life and maintain housing over time.

The Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program prevents homelessness by helping very low-income Veterans and their families gain access to the resources they need in order to successfully transition to, or maintain, permanent housing. The goal of the SSVF program is to provide veterans with the resources and support needed to achieve long-term housing stability and self-sufficiency.

The Retreat provides safety, shelter and support for children, adults and families affected by domestic violence, abuse, sexual assault and human trafficking. We offer confidential, no-fee support services, including a 24-hour hotline, legal advocacy, counseling, emergency shelter, fatherhood training and prevention programming. The Retreat helps people build safer, healthier, and more meaningful relationships and everyday connections. Our mission is to Break the Cycle of Violence.
